Carolyn D. Roark
Editor

Dr. Roark is the founding editor of Ecumenica. A scholar whose work has been focused on religion and performance, social pedagogy, and performing objects, her writing has appeared in Theatre History Studies, Youth Theatre Journal, Ollantay, Puppetry International, and other publications. She has served as Focus Group Representative for Religion and Theatre at ATHE, and currently convenes the Articles-in-Progress workshop for MATC. She has a mild obsession with puppets.


Ben Fisler
Assistant Editor

Prof. Fisler is advisor and lead instructor of the theatre program at Harford Community College. Recent publications include performance reviews for Shakespeare Bulletin and entries in Encyclopedia of Themes in Literature, Routledge Annotated Bibliography of English Studies, 18th Century Online Encyclopedia: Enlightenment and Revolution, and Encyclopedia of African American Women Writers. As an actor, Ben recently played the role of Torvald Helmer in A Doll's House for the Royal Norwegian Embassy and in GS-14 for the Capital Fringe.

W. Barrett Huddleston
Book Reviews Editor
Prof. Huddleston is Assistant Professor of Theatre and Communication at Oklahoma Christian University. His previous publications for Baylor Journal of Theatre and Performance include "Hegemonic Hrosvit" and a profile for Rising Image Productions. His research interest include religion and performance studies, early medieval theatre and dialogic education.

Bradley W. Griffin
Performance Reviews Editor

Prof. Griffin is assistant professor of Theatre at Pepperdine University where he teaches courses in theatre history, research methods, and stage directing. At present, his research focuses on the confluence of religion and performance as embodied in the personalities of the revival minister Charles G. Finney and the evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson. His writing has appeared in Theatre Journal. In October 2009, he interviewed internationally acclaimed performance artist Rachel Rosenthal for Ecumenica. At Pepperdine, he has directed The Glass Menagerie, Boris Vian’s Empire Builders, Arlene Hutton’s As It Is In Heaven, and Ellen McLaughlin’s adaptation of The Persians.


Matthew Saltzberg
Treasurer
Dr. Saltzberg is a teacher, scholar, director, actor and ethnographer originally from New York. He currently works in the University of Missouri-Columbia’s Department of Theatre as the Mizzou Advantage Postdoctoral Fellow in Managing Innovation: Navigating Disruptive and Transformational Technologies and is an Affiliate member of the Graduate Faculty. His scholarship and teaching sit at the intersection of theatre and performance studies and attend to the capacities and capabilities of the body as raw communicative material. His scholarship has been featured in Ecumenica, Theatre Research International, and The Journal of Religion and Theatre, and will appear in the  forthcoming issues of Text and Performance Quarterly and Liminalities: A Journal of Performance Studies.
